1.1 This Standard covers the minimum requirements for rubber and rubber-like insulating sleeves used as protection from electric shock while working on, or in the vicinity of, energized conductors and apparatus. Hereinafter, the term rubber includes rubber-like materials that conform to this Standard.
1.2 This Standard covers two types of sleeves designated as: Type I, non-resistant to ozone, and Type II, resistant to ozone.
1.3 This Standard covers five classes of sleeves, differing in electrical characteristics, designated as: Class 0, Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4.
1.4 This Standard covers two styles of sleeves, differing in configuration, designated as Style A, straight taper, and Style B, c urved elbow.
