Scope

This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following:

1.1
This Standard applies to the partial evaluation of thermal motor protectors as defined in Publication 730-1 for household and similar use including heating, air conditioning and similar applications.

A thermal motor protector is an integrated control which is dependent on its correct mounting and fixing in or on a motor and which can only be fully tested in combination with the relevant motor.

Requirements concerning the testing of the combination of motor and thermal motor protector are given in Appendix AA for information and include requirements taken from other IEC standards.

This Standard applies to the inherent safety, to the operating v alues, operating times and operating sequences where such are associated with equipment safety and to the testing of thermal motor protectors used in or on household or similar equipment.

This Standard is also applicable to thermal motor protectors for appliances within the scope of IEC Publication 335.

Throughout this standard the word equipment means appliance and equipment.

Throughout the mandatory text of this standard, the words not app licable mean that the test is not applicable to the evaluation of the thermal motor protector submitted separately. However, the test may be applicable to the evaluation of the thermal motor protector in combination with the motor.

This Standard does not apply to other means of motor protection.

This Standard does not apply to a manual device for opening the circuit.

This Standard does not apply to thermal motor protectors f or hermetic or semi-hermetic motor compressors.

1.2
This Standard applies to thermal motor protectors for use with electric motors with a rated voltage equal to or less than 660 V and a rated output of 11 kW or less.

La présente norme s'applique à l'évaluation partielle des dispositifs thermiques de protection des moteurs tels que définis dans la Publication 730-1, pour usages domestiques et analogues, y compris pour le chauffage, l'air conditionné et applications analogues.

Un dispositif thermique de protection des moteurs est un dispositif de commande intégrée dont le bon fonctionnement dépend de son montage et de sa fixation corrects dans ou sur un moteur. Il ne peut être essayé qu'en association avec le moteur concerné.

Les modalités d'essais de l'ensemble moteur/dispositif thermique de protection sont données à l'annexe AA pour information et comprennent des spécifications provenant d'autres normes CEI.

La présente norme s'applique à la sécurité intrinsèque, aux valeurs de fonctionnement, aux temps de fonctionnement et aux séquences de fonctionnement lorsqu'ils sont associés à la sécurité de l'équipement et aux essais des dispositifs thermique s de protection de moteurs utilisés dans ou sur des équipements électrodomestiques ou analogues.

La présente norme s'applique aussi aux dispositifs thermiques de protection des moteurs des appareils entrant dans le domaine d'application de la Publication 335 de la CEI.

Dans la présente norme, le terme matériel signifie appareils et matériel.

Dans le texte obligatoire de la présente norme, les mots n'est pas applicable signifient que l'essai n'est pas applicable à l'évaluation du protecteur thermique du moteur soumis séparément. Cependant, l'essai peut être applicable à l'évaluation du protecteur thermique du moteur en combinaison a vec le moteur.

La présente norme s'applique aux dispositifs de protection thermique des moteurs utilisés avec des moteurs électriques dont la tension nominale est inférieure ou égale à 660 V et la puissance nominale inférieure ou égale à 11 kW.
