Product Details
Overview
Management Information System (MIS) is implemented by an organization to collect and organize information to facilitate decision-making. An operational audit is used to measure how well employees and processes follow the MIS that was implemented. This second edition standard provides guidelines on:
- Managing and conducting internal or external management system audits.
- Evaluating the competence of the individuals, auditors and/or auditing teams who perform such audits.
Application of this international standard to other types of audits is possible, provided that special consideration is given to the specific competence needed.
This is the second edition of CAN/CSA-ISO 19011, Guidelines for auditing management systems, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 19011 (second edition, 2011-11-15). It supersedes the previous edition published in 2003 as CAN/CSA-ISO 19011, Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing (adopted ISO 19011:2002).
Scope
This International Standard provides guidance on auditing management systems, including the principles of auditing, managing an audit programme and conducting management system audits, as well as guidance on the evaluation of competence of individuals involved in the audit process, including the person managing the audit programme, auditors and audit teams.
It is applicable to all organizations that need to conduct internal or external audits of management systems or manage an audit programme.
The application of this International Standard to other types of audits is possible, provided that special consideration is given to the specific competence needed.
