Preface
This is the third edition of CSA Standard 8137.0 (now CAN3-B137.0), Definitions, General Requirements, and Methods of Testing for Thermoplastic Pressure Piping. It supersedes the previous edition published in 1981. This Standard contains requirements and test methods that are common to some, or all, of the Standards in CSA B137 Series on plastic pressure pipe. Wherever possible, the individual Standard (eg. B137.3), rather than repeat such information, simply refers to the relevant Clause in B137.0.
Scope

This Standard covers thermoplastic pressure piping and includes abbreviations, definitions, and classifications, general requirements for raw materials, general requirements for pipe and fittings, and the relevant test methods.
Note: The terms pipe, piping, tube, and tubing are often used interchangeably.
1.2
Thiss tandard shall be used in conjunction with one of the other Standards in the 8137 Series to form a complete Standard for a particular product.
