Preface
The standards set forth herein apply to the fourth edition of the Standard for Gas-Fired High-Intensity Infrared Heaters, ANSI Z8 3.19-2001/CSA 2.35-2001 and ANSI Z83.19a-2002/CSA 2.35a-2002, and supersede corresponding standards therein. Following their preparation by the supervising Technical Advisory Group, they were accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Interprovincial Gas Advisory Council (IGAC), and subsequently approved.
Scope
Details test and examination criteria for gas-fired high-intensity infrared heaters for use with natural, manufactured and mixed gases, liquefied petroleum (propane) gases, LP gas-air mixtures and convertible for use with natural gas and liquefied petroleum (propane) gases when provision is made for the simple conversion form one gas to the other. A gas-fired high-intensity infrared heater is intended for installation in and heating of outdoor spaces or nonresidential indoor spaces and are intended for location where flammable gases or vapors are not generally present. This appliance may be suspended overhead, angle mounted overhead, wall mounted or floor mounted.
