Scope
1.1 This Standard covers the construction and test of moulded case circuit breakers (hereafter referred to for convenience as breakers) rated at 6000 A or less and 600 V or less, intended for the protection of services, feeders, and branch circuits in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.2 This Standard does not apply to so-called moulded case switches that do not incorporate automatic overcurrent tripping devices.
1.3 Clause 7 of this Standard applies to adjustable type circuit breakers and supplements requirements covered in Clauses 1 to 6.
1.4 Clause 8 of this Standard applies to accessories that mount in or on a breaker to provide an additional operating or indicating function.
1.5 Clause 9 of this Standard applies to fused circuit breakers and high-fault protectors and supplements the other requirements of this Standard.
1.6 Clause 10 of this Standard applies to instantaneous-trip circuit breakers and supplements the other requirements of this Stan dard.
